Brush With Bamboo’s Organic Bamboo Plant Based Toothbrush is verified BPA-Free, Vegan, non-GMO, non-toxic, and 100% plastic free.
Every part of this product has been carefully and thoughtfully designed: the handle is made from organic bamboo and the bristles consist of nothing but castor bean oil. The bristles do not contain any ricin as the manufacturing process removes this naturally occurring lectin. They are also USDA certified biobased, a designation that verifies they contain no fossil fuels whatsoever. These toothbrushes will last just as long as their plastic counterparts while doing their part to reduce waste. They come in 100% paper packaging with no tape or glue. Available in both adult and kids sizes.
Bristle Strength: Soft
Box is 100% biodegradable paper (no glue or tape) – compost or recycle.
We encourage you to repurpose your toothbrush once it has retired from your mouth. There are many uses applications around the home like degreasing a bike chain or cleaning hard to reach places.
All toothbrushes including conventional plastic types include metal staples in their construction that attach the bristles to the handle. Brush With Bamboo use Aluminium staples because it is the most recyclable metal (75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today).
The bamboo handle is biodegradable and can be composted at home or commercially. Consult your municipal collection services to determine the best option. For example: in Toronto the handle should be added to yard waste collection where it will be composted since the green bin system does not accept wood.
The bristles and staples can be simply removed with pliers. Discard the bristles in compost or soil where they will eventually break down. They cannot be classified as biodegradable or compostable in the USA because they take longer than the qualifying timeline of one year to breakdown. The staples should be recycled.
